Where the numbers come from
No black box.
Most optimizers hand you a projection and ask you to trust it. Here is what goes into ours.
Start with the betting market
Sportsbook player props and team totals are the sharpest public numbers there are. We turn them into fantasy points and blend them with our own model, built on play-by-play usage. The player list marks which projections have a market line behind them and which are our estimate.
Learned from real contests
After each slate, projected ownership is checked against real DraftKings contest results and the model is adjusted. You see a number for every player before you build, so you know when you are with the crowd and when you are not.
10,000 versions of the slate
Teammates rise and fall together, and so do the two sides of a shootout. Every lineup is played through 10,000 simulated slates against a simulated field, which is where the top 1% and cash rates come from.
Track record
We grade ourselves every week.
When the games are over, every projection is scored against what actually happened. These are the first three weeks of the 2026 NFL season.
| Week | Clarity DFS and salary alone |
|---|---|
| Week 1 |
Clarity DFS 0.62 Salary alone 0.54 |
| Week 2 |
Clarity DFS 0.55 Salary alone 0.47 |
| Week 3 |
Clarity DFS 0.62 Salary alone 0.53 |
The score is the correlation between projected and actual DraftKings points across every projected player that week. 1.00 would be a perfect match, 0 would be no better than guessing. Salary is the honest bar to clear, because a player's price already reflects how good DraftKings expects him to be.
0.80 to 0.83
Ownership, against the real field
How closely our projected ownership matched what people actually played in three Week 3 contests, with 2,103 to 4,901 entries each.
The misses get written down too. Each week's biggest ones go back into the model before the next slate.
How it works
From slate to DraftKings in three steps.
Pick your slate
An NFL main slate, a Showdown, or a UFC card. Salaries and betting lines are already loaded, so there is nothing to upload.
Make it yours
Lock who you believe in, exclude who you don't, change any projection, set your stacks and exposure limits. DraftKings wants tool-built lineups to carry your own input, so you adjust at least two players before building.
Build and export
Build one lineup or 150, for a tournament, a small field, or cash. Export the CSV and upload it on DraftKings. Clarity DFS never enters a contest for you.

The real app, on a real Week 3 slate. It works the same on your laptop and your phone.
The parts people ask about
It tells you what it did, and why.
Follow an expert
Have someone whose picks you trust? Paste their player pool and exposures straight from their post. Your lineups are built from their players at their percentages, and you can remove it in one click.
A reason when a build fails
If your rules can't all be met at once, you are told which one is in the way: the stack, a group, a minimum, a team cap or a lock. Not just "no feasible lineups."
Ahead of the injury news
Players ruled out are marked as the news breaks, often ahead of DraftKings' own board, and their workload moves to whoever replaces them. A lock on someone who is out is dropped, and the build says so.
Your settings, kept
Each slate you open remembers your locks, exclusions and projections. Close the tab on Thursday and pick it back up on Sunday morning.
